On behalf of the entire Netrality team, we would like to pass along our thoughts and prayers to the City of Houston and all its residents.
We are happy to report that our Houston data center at 1301 Fannin was unscathed by Hurricane Harvey. The building performed as designed and did not experience any issues with power, cooling, flooding or otherwise. Throughout the storm, 1301 Fannin was continuously on utility power and the roads surrounding the property were unaffected, making the facility accessible before, during and after the storm.
I would like to personally thank our on-site personnel who worked tirelessly throughout the storm to ensure our tenants’ safety and security. Since our critical building systems are on back up power, the City of Houston allows tenants to occupy the 1301 Fannin colocation facility during emergency situations, and many tenants took advantage of the provided shelter, cafeteria and locker room facilities.
Netrality is committed to the City of Houston and has pledged resources to assist the community as it recovers and rebuilds. As part of that effort, we are providing ground level space to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) who, in conjunction with the U.S. Small Business Administration, is meeting with and assisting Hurricane Harvey victims. FEMA opened its doors on Thursday, September 14th 2017. Access to the FEMA recovery center is on the Clay Street side of the building; however, homeowners, renters and businesses are asked to register with FEMA before visiting.
