Netrality Properties recently finished the multi-phased construction project to enhance the building network infrastructure of our Philadelphia interconnected data center at 401 North Broad Street. Critical electrical gear and building systems at the 401 North Broad colocation facility have been modernized in order to offer greater flexibility and reliability to existing and prospective tenants and customers.

“Given we own both the building and operate a network-neutral colocation facility within the property, we understand investing in our building’s critical infrastructure is a necessity to ensure future growth and expansion for our customers and tenants,” said John Diamond, General Manager at 401 North Broad.

The yearlong construction project prioritized upgrading the facility’s:

  • Electrical distribution
  • Power and communications shaft ways
  • Management offices
  • Meet me room and retail data center
  • Network Operations Center (NOC)
  • Lobby and passenger elevators
  • Lobby convenience store with 24/7vending services
  • Parking facilities with 24/7 secure access
  • 5,400 ton cooling tower plant and condenser water pipe

Netrality Properties acquired 401 North Broad in 2014 and has since invested over $50 million in network infrastructure upgrades and building improvements. The 401 North Broad colocation facility is the most fiber-rich and network dense telecom building between Manhattan and Virginia. Multiple transatlantic submarine cables and north-south domestic fiber routes along the East Coast serve the building. 401 North Broad provides long-term stability and premier network-neutral interconnection and colocation services to its customers, providing direct cloud on-ramps and bringing them closer to their end-users.
