Weathering the Storm: Fail-Safe Fannin

When disaster strikes, rest assured Netrality provides business continuity and a safe environment for your data, offices, and employees.

In February 2021, Texas was devastated by a sudden and unexpected cold snap. Prolonged frigid weather led to massive power failures, millions without clean water, and loss of life. In a nation already under considerable strain and scarcity from the COVID-19 pandemic, the extreme weather only exacerbated a dire situation for millions. We at Netrality extend our deepest condolences to all who have been affected.

Data Centers Must Be As Disaster-Proof as Possible

Natural disasters are unavoidable. Extreme weather, earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, wildfires, and other unforeseen events are always possible and can wreak havoc on communities and businesses. Since no market is immune from outages and natural disasters, it is critical that data centers be designed to prevail against worst-case scenarios and have resources available above and beyond normal safeguards.

Netrality’s colocation facility at 1301 Fannin in Houston experienced no outages and maintained 100% uptime for critical and essential services throughout Winter Storm Uri. This was due to its fail-safe structural design, prudent planning and forecasting, adherence to established best practices and documented compliance with industry standards and regulations. We were also able to open our facility to tenants, customers, employees, and their families for safe shelter, as we have done during prior natural disasters such as Hurricane Harvey
