Some data center space changed hands down in Texas yesterday. Netrality Data Centers has acquired Internap’s colo facilities at 1301 Fannin Street down in Houston.

Netrality, of course, has been in Houston since 2015 when it bought 1301 Fannin, a 25-story carrier hotel, in 2015. Now as landlord they are acquiring both INAP’s data center and meet-me-room assets and therefore boosting their own ecosystem within the building. INAP will remain in the building offering network services and such.

Of course, it’s not too big a surprise INAP is shedding assets at the moment. They filed for chapter 11 back in March just when the pandemic was shutting things off. With the company’s creditors looking to maximize their value, it’s definitely high time for buyers like Netrality to look at such deals that might not have been on the table before.
